As a member of First3Years (Texas Association of Infant Mental Health) you are eligible to apply for Endorsement. Endorsement is an internationally recognized credential for professionals working with or on behalf of pregnant people, infants, young children, and their families.

The Infant Mental Health Endorsement credential (IMH-E®) stands out as one of the most comprehensive workforce development initiatives, both nationally and internationally. It identifies best practice competencies across disciplines and practice settings, offering diverse career pathways for professionals in the field of infant and early childhood mental health.

Earning the credential can assist professionals in integrating infant and early childhood mental health-informed principles, such as a reflective practice and relationship-based approach, into their practice. This integration has a profound impact on the social emotional health of infants and young children, setting a foundation for lifelong well-being.

To learn more about Endorsement click here or reach out to our Endorsement Coordinator at endorsement@first3yearstx.org.
As a member, you’re invited into intentional spaces designed to foster meaningful connection, shared learning, and collective growth across the early childhood and infant mental health field.
Through local chapters and Communities of Practice, members build relationships that strengthen practice, reduce isolation, and expand influence all grounded in our shared commitment to infants, young children, and families.
Local Chapters - Coming in 2026
First3Years is collaborating with communities interested in bringing back regional chapters to support building stronger, local, relational, early childhood systems.
-
Build authentic relationships with professionals in their region
-
Share resources, challenges, and wins within a trusted peer network
-
Engage in community-informed dialogue that reflects local needs
-
Strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration in early childhood systems
Chapters turn proximity into partnership — helping members move from “who do I know?” to “who can I grow with?”
Communities of Practice
Our Communities of Practice bring members together across roles and sectors to:
-
Engage in reflective, practice-based dialogue
-
Learn alongside peers who share similar professional lenses
-
Deepen understanding through collective problem-solving
-
Stay connected to evolving best practices in infant and early childhood mental health

Join our first Communities of Practice networking at our 2026 Infant Mental Health Advocacy Award Conference.
These communities are designed to be spaces of curiosity, mutual support, and professional belonging.
Stay tuned for local chapters updates coming soon. If you are interested in bringing local chapters to your area email Jyrah Knight at jknight@first3yearstx.org.
