Renewal Requirements

To remain on the Endorsement Registry and maintain usage of the IMH-E® designation, endorsees must submit their Endorsement renewal every 3 years by December 31st.  The next renewal year is 2027. The requirements for renewal are:

  • Have an active First3Years membership

  • Participate in a minimum of 45 clock hours per year of relationship-based education and training pertaining to the promotion of social-emotional development and/or practice of infant mental health

    • If you are providing Reflective Supervision/ Consultation (RS/C) 9 of these clock hours must be on the provision of RS/C

  • Receive 36 clock hours of qualified Reflective Supervision/ Consultation (RS/C). This is only required for Infant Family Specialist (IFS), Infant Mental Health Specialist (IMHS), and Infant Mental Health Mentor - Clinical (IMHM-C), and Endorsed Reflective Supervisor (ERS).

    • Qualified providers of RSC include individuals Endorsed at Infant Mental Health Mentor-Clincial (IMHM-C) OR who hold the Endorsed Reflective Supervisor add-on (ERS). Please note that if your provider of RSC is Vetted by First3Years or another association of infant mental health and is NOT Endorsed, it will be required beginning January 2026 for all qualified providers of RSC to be Endorsed.

    • If you are in need of a Reflective Supervisor, please email Jyrah Knight at jknight@first3yearstx.org

Renewal Steps

First3Years accepts all annual Endorsement® renewals online via the Endorsement Application System (EASy).  EASy is a confidential, web-based system where all components of the Endorsement process are completed.

The renewal period will open on October 1st, 2027 and closes on December 31st, 2027. Endorsed individuals who do not submit their renewal by December 31st, 2027 will be removed from the Endorsement registry.

Renewal will occur through an attestation system. On renewal years, Endorsed professionals will log into EASy and attest that they have completed all the Endorsement renewal requirements. Every renewal year, a small number of Endorsed professionals will be randomly selected for an Endorsement Audit. If chosen for the audit, they will receive instructions to provide the details of training hours, membership, and reflective supervision (if applicable).
